How to Live on Earth named a finalist in the 2026 Jackson Wild Awards

18 August 2026

The documentary has been selected by Jackson Wild as a finalist in the Onscreen Personality category — recognising the inspiring collective of global voices featured in the film.

Described as the Oscars of nature and conservation filmmaking, the Jackson Wild Media Awards recognise excellence in storytelling about the natural world. The Onscreen Personality award celebrates the people in front of the camera, whose knowledge and credibility carry an audience through a story.

This recognition for How to Live on Earth is testament to the collective of inspiring, thought-provoking contributors featured in the film. Together, their authenticity and storytelling help communicate the extraordinary value of nature and the jeopardy of a world without it – blending emotion, urgency and optimism through a human lens.

Presented by Benedict Cumberbatch, lead voices include Xiye Bastida, a climate justice activist, Dan O'Neill, a field biologist, wildlife filmmaker, and explorer, and Sam Kass, a former White House chef and senior policy advisor on nutrition.

The winners will be announced during this year’s Awards Gala, taking place in Los Angeles on 10 November 2026 as part of the closing to a special industry summit.

How to Live on Earth will be released globally on YouTube this September. Sign up to our mailing list for news and updates.
